About - Dance on Main
In 2001, the Aletia Stevens School of Dance was founded in Pierre van Ryneveld, Centurion.
However, as we have grown to become more than just a dance school, we changed our name to DANCE ON MAIN. We are a community, a family where dancers can thrive and develop into their best selves, with a deep love and appreciation for dance.
Our classes include Ballet, Hip Hop, Modern Dancing and National Dancing, and are open to children as young as 3 years old. As an accredited institution affiliated with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), Dance Association of South Africa (DASA), Association for International Dance Teachers (AIDT), and the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA), we also offer participation in annual external exam sessions.
All of our dancers are given the opportunity to participate in our annual recitals and productions. We have been invited to numerous television productions, and have performed at many corporate and charity events.
About - Aletia
Dancing has been an integral part of my life since my earliest days, as I moved from my first steps to skips and hops. My ballet journey began at the age of 4, under the tutelage of talented individuals such as Marie Sadie, Carlien Hugo, and Celeste Fair. In 1994, I completed the Royal Academy of Dance Advanced Exam, and in 2002, I was honored with an Associate of the RAD.
Although I pursued Social Work after finishing school, my lifelong dream of becoming a dance teacher never left me. In 2001, I was given the opportunity to follow that dream, and I became a dance teacher.
In 2005, I completed my dance teacher diploma with the Royal Academy of Dance and the University of Durham in England.
As a qualified National and Folk Dance Associate, Hip Hop and Modern Dance Associate and teacher, Zumba® Fitness and Zumba® Speciality Licenses, Piloxing License, Pilates Matt Certificate, and ACE Group Fitness Certification, I strive to combine my social work skills with my passion for dance, music, and movement.
My ultimate goal is to aid both young and old dancers in developing confidence and social skills, while simultaneously instilling a love for dance within them.
